What's here

Twelve robots that beep, roll, stomp, and hover when tapped. Some are real machines you might actually pass on the sidewalk, some are the big stompy kind from a kid's imagination, and every one tells your toddler a plain, true thing about what it does. Robot words are great toddler material because so many of them are sounds and actions first: beep, roll, zoom, clank.

Meet these first

Helper Robot, Jetpack Robot, Spider Bot, and Robot Arm are on the bench for round two.

How to play (60 seconds)

Play "move like the robot." Tap the robot dog and trot in place together. Tap the sphere bot and roll your hands around each other. Tap the giant mech and take three big slow stomps across the room. Then flip it: do a robot move yourself and ask your toddler to find which robot does that. Stiff robot arms and a "beep boop" voice are mandatory, obviously.

Good to know

Robot words come pre-loaded with sound effects, and sound effects are some of the easiest words for a toddler to try first. "Beep," "boop," "zoom," and "clank" are low-pressure practice that feels like a game, and the real words, robot, drone, vacuum, tend to follow once the fun sounds are rolling. Narrate what each robot is doing while they tap and let them echo whatever part they want.

The free Starter Pack on the printables page has first-words cards and a 50-word checklist for screen-free practice between robot visits.

Machine-minded kids usually want more machines. Try space for rockets and rovers, construction-trucks for the diggers, vehicles for everything with a siren, and big-trucks for the highway giants. The homepage has the full map.
