How to play (60 seconds)

Sounds are the shortcut on this page. Ask your toddler to find the one that goes "woop woop," and cheer when they land on the police car. Then do the rocket together: count down from five out loud, tap on "one," and throw your hands up at blastoff. Finish with the garbage truck and take turns doing the "beep beep beep" backing-up sound. Every vehicle noise your toddler imitates is a tiny bit of talking practice dressed up as a game.

Good to know

Vehicle sounds are often some of a toddler's very first "words," and that's a feature, not a shortcut. "Vroom," "beep," and "choo choo" are easy to say, fun to repeat, and they naturally grow into the real names: first "woo woo," then "fire truck," then "the fire truck has a ladder."
